Contract Opportunity with AAFCS:

Industry Engagement and Credential Advocacy Specialist

The American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) committed to expanding the value and recognition of credentials as a critical component of workforce development. AAFCS is seeking a highly motivated contractor to support national efforts to expand awareness, recognition, and endorsement of the AAFCS Pre-PAC industry-based credentials. The short-term contract will be focused on connecting education and industry to strengthen talent pipelines and economic opportunity. This role will focus on building relationships with business and industry leaders, securing support, and promoting the value of credentials as a workforce solution. This role is well-suited for someone who:

  • Is comfortable in a “business development” or advocacy role

  • Can clearly articulate the value of credentials to employers

  • Understands how credentials support workforce readiness and hiring needs

  • Is proactive, strategic, and results-driven

AAFCS Seeks Editor for the Family and Consumer Sciences Research Journal. 

Position will stay open until filled

With the retirement of its current editor (effective 12-31-2026), the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) is seeking candidates for Editor of the Family & Consumer Sciences Research Journal (FCSRJ).  The journal publishes original research in all areas of family and consumer sciences concerned with the well-being of individuals and families. The Editor is assisted by Associate Editors representing content areas within family and consumer sciences (e.g., apparel, textiles, and merchandising; family studies/human development; family and consumer sciences education; foods and nutrition; hospitality and tourism, housing and interior design; personal finance/consumer economics; and professional issues).

Contract Start Date:  August 1, 2026
