Read more about Marilyn!
Many of Marilyn’s efforts within the association have been enduring ones, including the “Take It to the Streets” initiatives. I particularly remember the obesity initiative and the first pandemic, “Prevent H1N1” initiative. These efforts had impact on countless numbers of families nationwide and garnered recognition for our profession. Her “Twice Is Nice Accessory Swaps” at AAFCS annual conferences have been memorable, popular, and fun. As AHEA Teacher of the Year, her acceptance speech, “All I Ever Needed to Know I Learned in Home Economics” was published in eight thousand posters by the award co-sponsor, Glencoe/McGraw Hill. Her professional vita is a life story of love and commitment, so “jampacked” it is with significant accomplishments and contributions to our field.
